Bread soaked in hot milk with cinnamon and lemon, baked at 180º, without frying and with all the flavour of tradition. Simple, comforting and perfect for brightening up your Christmas table 🎄.
Ingredients
- 1 loaf of bread;
- 1 litre of milk;
- 2 eggs;
- 1 tablespoon of brown sugar;
- 1 cinnamon stick;
- 1 lemon peel.
Preparation
- Start by heating the milk with the lemon peel, cinnamon stick and brown sugar, bringing it to a gentle boil.
- Remove from the heat and add the slices of bread/cacete (ideally from the day before).
- Allow the milk to be absorbed on both sides, without soaking.
- Beat the eggs in a bowl and dip the slices of bread in the eggs.
- Arrange everything on a baking tray and bake in the BIO8H oven at 180º for about 20 minutes, until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and sprinkle to taste.
